Tips & Suggestions for Great Portraits

CLOTHING:
Solid colors & long sleeves will photograph best. Avoid bold patterns, logos or writing, stripes, and other unusual patterns. Bring as many different outfits as you like. You should bring a variety of styles and colors.

PROPS:
Bring items that have meaning for you.
Seniors-A prop can be sports equipment, pets, & cars. Please, if you bring a pet, also bring someone to handle the pet while we are not shooting the pet. Also I do not shoot pets in studio.
Children- A favorite toy or stuffed animal can help a child feel more at ease.

BRINGING SOMEONE:
Please bring only people who will not distract you. If you desire, we can do shots with your sibling, friend, or boyfriend/girlfriend.

CONCERNS FOR WOMEN:
Nail Polish
You may think your fingers & toes won't show, but they might. Please wear a neutral nail polish as wearing a loud color will distract from your photo. French manicures always look nice.

Makeup
Cover any blemishes with a base makeup and keep it simple. Your make up should reflect you & be normal for you. Avoid wearing heavy eye & cheek makeup. A more natural look is always flattering. Retouching is available if there is a blemish the day of your session.

CONCERNS FOR MEN:
Shaving Please make sure you are clean shaven. Do not shave too close to the session as your neck & face may appear red & irritated.

CONCERNS FOR COUPLES & FAMILIES:
In addition to all of the above couples and families usually photograph better if they dress the same or similar. The same style pants, or jeans with a blouse and shirt that is the same color or maybe a shade or two different. This is most flattering as you will 'blend' into one another rather than stick apart.

Proofs & Ordering

Proofs are 4x6 prints. They will have a print number on the back and that is the number you will give me you order. You can either call or email me orders. I perfer email. Also keep in mind that family members can place an order directly to me.

All sales are final at the time of order and there are no returns unless prints are damaged. A deposit of 50% of the toal price of the prints or other items is due at the time of the order. The balance is due at delivery. Prices are subject to change without notice.

Cropping

Proofs come in 4x6 size. Keep in mind that if you order enlargements that you will loose some of the image to cropping. If you want to maintain the enitre image you could order an 8x12 but keep in mind you will have a hard time finding a frame.
