Down Country Roads Calendar publishes one of my photos!

November 20th, 2008

Just call him Mr. January.  We have been having alot of fun with this the last few weeks. (yeah I said weeks, we have known about this for awhile but I have been too busy to post about it, plus I had to wait until we were done playing a trick on the girls at the Brems Co-op, inside joke but basically involves me digitally putting my dad’s head on a a HOT bodybuilder guy’s body).  Anyways…. My favorite photo so far of my dad in my “Project Dad” series was published in a national calendar.

Here is what the cover looks like …

and when you open it up it looks like this…

So if you see my dad (aka Ed Jernas), make sure you call him Mr. January.  LOL

Senior: Kassy from Oregon-Davis School

November 17th, 2008

I shot Kassy’s brother senior pictures a year or two ago.  I am so glad I got the chance to take Kassy’s pictures.  She is farm girl all the way!  I teased Kassy about being a farm girl, I hope she realized that I am a total farmer’s daughter myself.  Depsite the nasty weather we did manage to get some shots taken outside.  I love the horse shots.  I miss riding, I haven’t rode in weeks.  Partly because I have been busy, partly because my riding buddy (aka my dad) has also been busy.  I hope it will warm up some so I can go, I hate riding in the cold, that isn’t as fun.  Enough about me and lack of riding time, here are some of my favorite shots of Kassy…

Family: Kirk, Delores, Brooke and Bo

November 17th, 2008

I was totally bummed that we had a yucky day.  We had wanted to take pictures at their farm.  Oh well, maybe next year.  We did still have fun.  Although it was Brittani one of my seniors that made it fun for us all (I will be posting her pictures very soon).  As always…here are some of my favorites…

This photo is great of Kirk and Delores, but I have one I love even better of them looking at each other all in love, but didn’t want to embarress the kids.

When I was shooting Brooke’s I felt like I was working with a senior.

Senior: Kelsi from John Glenn High School

November 14th, 2008

Kelsi is one of the sweetest, most mature senior I have ever met.  I know she is still trying to figure out what path she wants to take career wise but I know when she figures it out she will do awesome!  Kelsi brought her best buddy and neighboor with her and I am so glad she did, it was like the three of us hanging out more then a photo shoot.  (we even took pictures together at the end).  Something new I wanted to try out was this new slideshow program, tell me what you think…

And here are my favorite shots…

Here is our group shot… Sorry Kelsi not gonna post the dorky one, I think I looked way too dorky in it (more then usual).  I wish I would have fixed my hair for this.  Watch out Saturday sessions I am gonna straighten my hair for you!  Here is my favorite goofying off picture…

Thanks Kelsi for doing an awesome job and for the fun times.  Wish the weather would have been better so we could have taken that sunset picture you wanted.  (BUMMMER!)

Family: Lance, Betti Jo, Cody, Austin, Zack and Bailey

November 14th, 2008

These guys have been on my blog before.  Actually Cody has been on several times and his mug still graces my website.  (I love that shot with your car by your grandma’s house).  Anyways, Cody was home and Betti Jo wanted me to get some photos of the family together.  Bailey (the little guy) was not in the mood at all, although later in the shoot he did awesome.  They thought he was just being a stinker, turned out the little guy was sick.  I talked to Betti Jo yesterday and she said he is finally feeling better.  Here are a few of my faves…

I LOVE THURSDAYS!

November 13th, 2008

I just walked into my house and it is CLEAN!  Huge thanks to Chris of Apron Strings (Cleaning and Organizing Service).  I am so glad I decided to have someone come in once a week.  I was having a hard time keeping my house clean and doing laundry so something had to give, either less work or less family time and really I didn’t want to budge on either so I finally found someone to clean for me.  It has been awesome.  She also helped me organize my basement and she organized my bathroom for me.  Of course my husband didn’t think that I needed someone to clean for me, but now he is glad we have Chris.  I am happier, my house is cleaner, and I have more time to spend with family.

If you are in the same situation and need help give Chris a call at 574-867-2751.  Please mention to her that I told ya to call!!

Senior Pictures: Kaylee from Knox High School

November 12th, 2008

If you know Kaylee you will understand why I was alittle worried about just doing studio with her (she isn’t a girlie girl at all, she is pretty tomboy) but from the very first shot she was very confident and rocked the entire shoot.  It was so much fun for me.  I don’t hide the fact that studio work is not my favorite, I would rather be outside shooting but Kaylee totally changed things for me, I am finally excitted about it.  I have a new backdrop on the way, I hope to get a couch in there, and try to do some different stuff to help keep me happy to be shooting in there. (Bob hated when I said I didn’t like shooting in the studio, because he did happen to put an entire summer into building the darn thing)  So huge thanks Kaylee for the awesome time and for getting me excitted about studio work again.  Here are several of my favorite shots from the evening…

Oregon-Davis Girls Basketball Poster

November 7th, 2008

For the last couple years Terry has given me the chance to be creative and do fun stuff for the basketball schedule.  Last year was awesome I have to admit.  It was alot of pressure to come up with something good this year.  I really hope everyone likes it as much as we do.

od-girls-basketball-poster-picd.jpg

For those of you with bad eyes…. (aka my mom) Yep that is eight different girls in that photo.   Cheryl was a huge help on this.  I know for sure it wouldn’t be half as good if it wasn’t for her helping me.  Also Cheryl snapped some shots of me in action (I am the one behind the camera)  LOL…

odgbbsept2008_05bw-copy.jpg

And as always if Andrea is around there is always fun times….  For those of you that don’t know her.  She is a past Lady Cat and well, she is even dorkier then me.  (yep, I said that!!)  Love ya Andrea!!!!  I actually had photos that were worse then this so be thankful!

Zack, Sam, Zoe, and Zane

November 6th, 2008

This was so much fun.  I knew it would be.  It has been awhile since I photographed Zane, but last time I had a blast, he has the best personality in the world.  He acts so grown up I forget how young he is.  I had’t photographed the rest of the kiddos except I usually get a snap shot of Zoe at the bastketball games or trick-or-treating.  Anyways, here are my faves from one of the funniest sessions ever.  Thanks guys for making me smile, and special thanks Zane for just being you!!!
