The nicer the camera the better the photo! - exactly why I bought a Holga to escape the "nice camera" realm for a while and just enjoy snapping, no instant review, no downloads, no wireless slideshows... just... a $25 plastic film camera with a good mix of ugliness and cool. Some of the film shots were favorites that made their way into wedding albums no less. :) Low tech might just be the wave of the future.
