Steph needed some shots for her comp cards and I wanted to try shooting with my studio lights outside.  I used my studio light for the 1st and 3rd photo.  Was awesome to have that much light outside.  I was able to get great blue skies.  By the way, the red dress is mine, I can’t believe I use to fit into it.  Although that was before kids.

Steph will end up on the blog again I am sure, I still need to do her senior pictures.

Starke County 4-H Fair Coming Soon!!

Friday, July 10th, 2009

The Starke County Indiana 4-H Fair is July 11th-18th Hamlet Fairgrounds.   For those of you that have never been… It’s fun and it’s free.  (can’t get much better then that)

I want to tell all the 4-H’ers good luck and be safe.  I will be taking pictures throughout the week for the Newshawk.  After the fair I will post all the photos in the storefront so make sure you check for that.

Some things I want to mention….

-Monday night is the Ham and Bean Dinner 5pm.  Eli Roska makes the beans and Burkett’s Catering makes the chicken and noodles and the corn bread.

-Wednesday at 6:30 is the Stick Horse Fun Show.  Bob and I started this a few years ago and it is a blast.  It is for kids 5 and under.  They need to bring their stick horse with but if they don’t have one I have one they can borrow for the barrell race.  It doesn’t cost anything for them to enter and they will all get participation ribbons and western coloring books.  (thanks Speciality Shop in Knox for always donating the ribbons)  Spread the word to anyone you think would be interested

-Look for Samantha’s exploring 4-H project.  Her poster board is blue with birds on it and her picture is on it as well.  If you see her around fair make sure you tell her you seen it.  She is pretty proud of it.  She also made a picture of a horse that will be in the open class building.  She is my little artist.

SEE YOU ALL AT THE FAIR!!

Kaylee is so easy to photograph.  I have actually taken her pictures a couple times already and we still have to do a down town session.  So in the next couple weeks you will see her on the blog again.

Indiana Photography: Marks Family

Wednesday, July 8th, 2009

Family members are from Indiana, Missouri, Minnesota, and California.

july2009_41

Four generation pictures are special.  I cherish the ones I have.  I am lucky to have three of them.  (one with great grandma Surma, great grandma Spoor, and one with great grandpa Jernas)  I hope you guys cherish your photo and remember the fun afternoon together.

july2009_22

The reason for the family get together was to celebrate this guy’s 80th birthday.  Bill, you are such a sweetie, I hope you had the best birthday ever.  By the way, you are one handsome fellar and happen to photograph very well.

july2009_28

And then there is this Bill (wacky teeth Bill).  He is the reason that the kids have smiles in many of the photos.  So when it was his turn I made sure he had a reason to smile too, I kinda’ went to far though and they both ended up cracking up.july2009_25

I love this family.  When I first got there it was raining, I talked to them and asked if they wanted to head to my house, and they said no, we are fine in the rain if you are.  (my kind of people)  So we took shelter under a couple trees and really even though it drizzled basically the entire time, we got some great shots and had a blast, and actually stayed pretty dry.

I told the family I was gonna post Bill’s teeth photo, I think they thought I was kidding.  Nope I was serious.  Bill was behind me getting the kids to smile, and I had no clue what he was doing.  Alittle later I asked him and he showed me….july2009_09

Thanks Bill for the help with the kids and for the good laugh!

Oh, one more thing…. Bill (birthday Bill, not crazy teeth Bill) got the coolest birthday present from his daughter-in-law.  She is an artist and made him a picture out of wallpaper.  I had to take a picture of it and share with you all because love cool different stuff.  I told her that some day I can see Samantha making stuff like that.  She is going to be an artist for sure!

At the end of the shoot we decided to have some cake…harperjuly2009_57

Oh and I have to share this picture.  I got Harper a John Deere camera (can’t believe I found one).  She loved it, can’t you tell!!  I think I will have myself alittle assistant some day.harperjuly2009_42

When I was in Harper’s room, I noticed this wall.  I love it.  The sign says “My prince has come.. His name is daddy”  And Jana put pictures I took of  Brad and Harper together.  How cute is that.   I love seeing pictures I have taken displayed in people’s homes, makes me feel good.  By the way I love doing “lifestyle” photography.  I think it is a great to get professional photos taken at your home, espicially with younger kids, they are more comfortable on their own turf.harperjuly2009_24

In case you don’t know Bob and I are friend’s with Harper’s mommy and daddy.  They are Aunt Jana and Uncle Bob to my kids.  It is so fun to watch Harper grow up and to see what great parents Brad and Jana are.

When Taylor came to the studio it was sprinkling out and we thought we were going to be stuck in the studio for the evening.  Luckily it stopped and we headed out to find some cool gloomy looking skies.  Taylor said she loves my sky photos so I took lots of them.

Taylor and her mom were super to work with.  Her mom even picked out some of the locations.  (by the way we ended up staying at my house for the shoot, I was worried we would spend time driving some where and it end up raining)

Oh, by the way, Taylor is one of the super seniors.  Her school thinks she is super and so do I!!

Thanks Carrie and Tony for brining Aubrey over to play!!  LOL  It doesn’t seem that long ago that I was taking your engagement pictures.  Time goes by so fast.

Aubrey- give lots of kisses to your Grandpa Bill for me!!!
