Northern Indiana Photographer: Maggie, Jared and their awesome parents
The other day I photographed one of the most amazing families I know. My cousin Rodney, his wife Rachel and their kids Jared and Maggie.
Rodney is my cousin. Rod has always excelled at everything he has done in life. When he was in high school he was a big basketball star, when he worked for the local PBS station he was a TV star. Well, now he is a star dad to Maggie and Jared, which really is the most important thing he has ever done. His kids are super lucky to have him as a dad, and then they hit the jackpot with Rachel as a mom.
In Feburary Rod and Rachel’s little baby girl only 3 years old was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma. It has been a rough several months. If you follow their caringbridge website you know that. Their life has and will never be the same. However even though their life is now filled with medical concerns they are still the same fun and crazy family they were before February. I am glad I got to photograph them at home having a fun afternoon and at least for alittle while we all forgot about our troubles and had fun acting goofy.
Gonna start off with my favorite couple pictures. Rod asked me to capture how Maggie rubs his face. She likes to check to see if his face is smooth or scratchy. (Rod I have to admit I had a hard time not sheading a tear. It is the Grandma Jernas in me, I just loved watching you guys interact, I am so glad I got to witness that special moment)

Rachel wanted me to take pictures of them having a tea party. Rachel collects tea cups and pots so it was the perfect photo opportunity.

I know Maggie isn’t looking at the camera, but I love this next photo of the kids. Jared- you are such a cutie pie, keep hugging Maggie tight and being a good big brother.

I just love these next to shots of Rachel and Maggie. Sorry Rachel for posting, but how could I not. You guys are just too darn cute.

Jared takes after his dad ALOT, can’t you tell. Oh and he is such a smart kid. He read one of Maggie’s favorite books and my jaw hit the ground. He is only in Kindergarden but was easily reading the book.

Thanks for the fun afternoon gang.
