Northern Indiana Photography: The Moon

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

Friday when my friend Tish was leaving the studio she told me I had to take a picture of the moon, so I did.  I thought it would be neat for my kids and figured I would throw the photo on here in case anyone else wanted to show their kids.

My niece plays basketball at Oregon-Davis.  (part of the reason I am Lady Cat basketball crazy)  She ran over to the studio today while I had a break in my shooting for the book and I snapped a few of her in her basketball jersey.  My mother-in-law is dying to see these so I hurried and got them edited for her.  Here you go Ann…

Northern Indiana Photographer: Josh a Senior from West Central

Saturday, January 30th, 2010

Josh was a trooper and was willing to go outside and I think it was like 15 degrees out.  We didn’t shoot much out there because I was being wimpy that day, plus his nose was going to start getting red.  Then he had to face a really out studio because I had the heat turned up because I had a newborn session right after his.

Josh did a good job at laughing at my jokes, or maybe we was just laughing at me, hmmm oh well doesn’t matter he gave me good smiles that is all that counts.  Thanks Josh!

Piper is a big sister!!!  Paige and Piper’s mommy is my photographer friend Nichole. (Lady Cats she is the one that went to the boxing ring with us and helped out) She needed me to take their family picture but of course since they were at the studio we did some of just Paige.

Paige wasn’t really in the mood for pictures that evening so we ended up hanging out in the house and chatting.  Of course once she got in the house and we weren’t taking pictures she was sound asleep.  I guess we wore her out.

I am bummed that I didn’t think to get any pictures of Brandon and Piper playing together.  They were so cute.  Imagine the craziness if two photographer’s kids got married.  How many cameras would be at that wedding.

Northern Indiana Photographer: Newborn Baby Girl Anna

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Sooo happy for Dawn, Chris and Maxwell that they have Anna.  She was a joy to photograph and her daddy entertained us all during the shoot.  Hey Chris Lambert I have found a dad that is just as crazy as you are on photo shoots.  Didn’t think that was possible.  Here is Anna’s dad’s idea of funny….

BTW I went to school with Dawn and Chris.  They have always been such great friends to me.  One year for Christmas Chris gave me an orange.  LOL

Northern Indiana Photographer: Sample book arrived today!!!

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

I am so excited about the book I am working on.  I have a ton of kid models lined up for this. (Friday and Saturday will be CRAZY at the studio)  I still have room where I could add extra pages, but I don’t “need” any more kids to fill the book, however if there is someone that you think would be upset if they weren’t included please say something to them.  I know it has been hard for some parents to visualize what I am doing so I thought I would post some photos of the sample book I just got today.  Keep in mind this probably won’t be the end look, I just wanted to order a sample so I could show you guys what it would look like and I tried out a couple different things in my sample book to see how they would print out.

So here it is…..

Each child that participates will have one photo and one question, answer and their age will be listed.  Oh and just first name will be listed also.  As you can see I just threw some photos in since I was in a hurry to get this sample back.

I am going to try to make this fun and memorable for the kid’s and their families.  I am going to talk to the children’s librarian tomorrow about doing a book signing or some type of fun event when the books come in.  If nothing else we will do a fun evening at the studio.

Thanks in advance to everyone that is helping me out with this.  This will be a great fundraiser for Maggie and her family that is battling cancer.  I will have a page in the book dedicated to Maggie and Jared.

PS  If anyone has a great idea for a book title let me know.  One tiny thing that I haven’t put much thought into.

Northern Indiana Photographer: Looking for one more model

Monday, January 25th, 2010

Northern Indiana Class of 2011 I am looking for models to represent my studio. I only need one more to fill the Feb 7th spot.   Makeup Artist Heather Dirrim will be in the studio doing makeup and Brooke Weber from Body Reflections will be doing hair.

I really want a junior from John Glenn, Plymouth or North Judson.  So if you know one, please send them my way.   Oh and make sure they are cute and fun to be around.

Here are a few  images from the last model shoot….

Northern Indiana Basketball: Oregon-Davis Bi-County Champs 4 in a Row

Sunday, January 24th, 2010

Congrats Lady Cats!

The Seniors!

Gabi interviewed on FOX28.  (Fox has been great covering our lady cats, thanks)

Link to FOX Video from the Game

Gabi was honored with MVP and here she was a WB Hawkins Award Nominee.  This next shot I am sure some would say was a mistake, but I LOVE it, the big reason why it is so cool is the flash was coming from her grandpa’s camera.  I need to use his flash more often.  LOL

By the way, the lady cats beat LaVille 60-35.

Northern Indiana Photographer: I love being MOM!!

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

My baby boy….

I took this shot last night.  It is going up on the wall somewhere.  I love it.  And last night was awesome, Samantha had girlfriends over and my niece and nephew came over with their kids and we got pictures of them all.  During all the craziness in the studio with a total of 6 kids in there Brandon goes in front of the mirror and was posing with his shirt off.  (I caught it with video too with my 5D- it’s so good I could charge people to see it)  Anyways the reason I am telling you this is I am so glad I have this picture of him, when I look at it I will look back and remember the awesome evening I had with the kids and how wonderful it is to be MOM!

Northern Indiana Photography: Chamber of Commerce Event

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

Last night I went to the Chamber of Commerce Dinner.  There they awarded Charlie Weaver the Schricker Award.  Here is Charlie and his wife Jennifer Davis.

They also auctioned off the Eagle Plaque.  Here is the group involved with that.

And at the start of the evening Mrs. Lucas and her husband sang and played their guitars.  They were fantastic!

I had an awesome time last night.  My mom went representing 1st Source Bank and it was nice to have mom and daughter evening.  We had a great group sitting at our table.  David and Linda from Starke Hospital and John from Ivy Tech College.  It was nice talking to them about our community.  I have lived here all my life and both John and David shared some things that even I didn’t know and both aren’t originally from the area.

If you are on my facebook you have already read this but I have to share with everyone else… I want to thank Charlie and everyone else that was at the event last night you guys have inspired me to do more for my community.  Now that my kids are older I need to do more with the 4-H program that I love and that has done so much for me and my family.

Northern Indiana Basketball: Bi-County Tournament Underway

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

Lady Cats won the 1st Round of Bi-County and will be playing at LaVille on Saturday at 8:00am and the Championship game will be at in the evening.  (not 100% sure of time because it might have changed due to the morning game)

Anyways if you haven’t been to the Bobcat Den this past week there are some new bleachers at each end.  They are really nice.  I love them! (And I am not one for change, but these are really nice)  Makes it alot better for me to take pictures.

And I wanted to share this shot of Samantha (the one in the superman cape LOL) following Gabi Minix around.  Just a reminder to all the high schoolers in sports that these little kids really look up to you guys so try to set good examples on and off the courts.  And big thanks to all the girls basketball team for letting Samantha hang out with you guys she loved it.  And FYI she wore her hunting coat and hat to the game because Gabi likes camo.  She couldn’t wait to get to the game and show her.

Good luck Lady Cats, let’s bring home another Bi-County Championship!

PS  I will get all the images from the girls and boys game in a gallery later today.
