Happy 2nd Birthday Abby!

One of my all time favorite pictures of Samantha is one where she is doing this same pose.  I have it in my bedroom.

If you are a regular blog follower then you have seen Abby on the blog several times, and you also know that her dad is always doing something funny and I always post a picture of his craziness.  So here it is, he was getting the bubbles ready for us and spilled them all over the place and I ran over to take a picture and here is what I had in front of me.  (the hat is a girl’s hat and has glitter on it)

Abby- I just love how you tilt your head when you smile, and I love how you are silly like your daddy.  Thanks for always making me smile.  Can’t wait to take your 3 year old pictures.

This little girl remind me so much of my Samantha at one.  I actually think Sam was chunkier.  I just love chubby babies.   Kayla was crawling all over the place so I said, hey that’s okay we can make a cute collage out of that.  I try not to force kids to do what I want to rather let them do what they do best.

Thanks Cale and Katie for bring your little girl to the studio.  I can’t wait until those big blue eyes are looking at my camera again.  (I am thinking next time we will be chasing after her as she walks around all over the place)

Next is one of my favorite newborn shots ever, I love how alert he is and how he is holding his daddy’s hand.  Tooo cute.

Henry’s mom is special to me because she was one of my first seniors I photographed when I started my business.  Actually I took Henry’s two aunt’s senior pictures as well.  Aunt Becky’s picture is still hanging up in my studio.

Anyways, Henry likes me.  I know this because he didn’t want to go to sleep for us.  He wanted to stay up and play with me.   Henry  has lots of family and friends that will be there for him as he grows up.  I can’t wait to watch this little guy grow up.

Oh and funny story about the shoot… I just got done saying let’s get a diaper back on him and what does he do…  PEED all over.  Luckily it was just on a blanket that washes easily.  No worries, just glad he didn’t pee on me.  :)

The Lady Cats played in the Chicagoland Classic on Saturday.  Me being the loyal fan that I am made the trip.  The game wasn’t so fun to watch.  The girls were tired, they played a tough game the night before and well for some reason just didn’t get a good start.  And they happened to be playing IL’s #1 ranked team. Of course I have fun where ever I go and whatever I do so the trip was still awesome.  Ate some good pizza at Connie’s Pizza with some family and friends.  Oh and I tried Calamari for the first time.  (yeah didn’t realize I was eating squid until afterwards, and FYI it isn’t that great, kinda rubbery)

Some other people that made the trip was Harold from WKVI.  I snapped a couple pictures of him and his son. (they were on air while I did it, leave it to me to bother people while they are on the radio, thankfully Harold likes me, oh and actually I heard that his daughter called him on his cell, so I think me snapping pictures wasn’t the most distracting thing he had to deal with that day)

And the OD band rocked the place.  Even the other teams fans clapped several times for them.  Super cool they made the trip.

And I am just gonna post one action shot.  I love how Harold and his son are in the background and the McDonald’s banners.  (McD’s sponsored the event)

Kid’s say the cutest things don’t they.  If we don’t write it down or video tape them those cute little comments are forgotten.  I am working on a book that will feature kids and the funny or cute things they have to say.

I am in the need of  a couple kid models.  I want outgoing and fun kids!!!  If you have a son or daughter between the ages of 3-8 please contact me very soon. I shot some of my kids last weekend, although I need to shoot some more of Samantha because we kinda ran out of time to do her hair because I had Britt coming for her senior session.

Here is what I am working on… (not sure on the layout yet, just want to get going on taking the pictures and figuring out what questions get good responses from the kids)  And big thanks to my cousin Robyn who is helping me on this, she came up with lots of great questions for me.  I am so excited about this project.

Britt came back for more pictures.  (Her family is picture crazy, her dad is king picture taker).  We did her last session by a waterfall.  It was fun and we got lots of good stuff but she wanted snow and also a couple studio shots so we stupidly went out on like the coldest day ever.  Oh well, we had fun anyways.

Here are just a couple of my favorites.

Love this new colored background!!!  I went thru a period of my life where every shirt I bought was that color.  I love it!!!

Notice the snow in her hair, yeah that was my fault huh Britt.  It was funny though, especially since it didn’t happen to me.

John Glenn and Oregon-Davis girls basketball team and fans raised $600 for coaches vs. cancer last night.  It was such a awesome evening.  They raffled off a special ball signed by both teams, and they did a silent auction where you could win a special head band which was worn by the girls during the game.  I won the highest bid for Katie from John Glenn’s head band.  Her mom was really appreciative that I got it.

Here is a picture of me and Christina (girls basketball manager) last night after the game.  I put the headband on but her brother said I looked dorky so I took it off.  (well he didn’t actually say that, but I could tell by the look on his face that it didn’t look good)

In case you didn’t know I HATE cancer.  I wish it would leave special people like Christina alone so they can enjoy their high school years without having to deal with medical stuff.  Christina- you are such an inspiration girlfriend!!!

If you follow my blog, you know these two are always trying to get on here.  They thought I needed some models to show off the head bands.  They are too funny.

My favorite part of the night was when both teams met in the middle.  How awesome is that they can just get done “battling” on the court and then can come together like that.  Super group of girls at Oregon-Davis and John Glenn.

Here are a few from Saturday evening…

I met with a really nice couple from the Chicago area yesterday.  I felt so bad that they drove all the way in the snow just  to meet me and since they are both really into photography I decided to get the camera out.  I just have to share two images I caught of her ring.  It was fun playing around, but it was sooo darn cold.

This one is tooo cute, love furry hoods!!

Kristin did such an awesome job.  I took these on Sunday and it was snowing and blowing.  I questioned her a couple times to make sure she was up for it and make sure her mom knew she was going to be driving on messy roads.  Kristin has a way of picking bad weather days to shoot.  I shot her in the fall when it was pouring out.  Don’t believe me check out the blog post HERE.

Snow makes for awesome photos.  It is like having on giant reflector on the ground.  So if anyone is up for snow pictures so am I.  I will throw my carhart bibs on and shoot as long as you can handle being cold.
