Road Closed!
At about 2am the kids and I were awaken by police sirens. Then several firemen were in our yard loading up a boat. It was obvious someone had tried to drive down the flooded section of Range Road that is less then a mile past my house. Hamlet, Knox and Bass Lake fire departments responded. As you can see from the photos it was a dangerous situation for everyone involved. The tempature outside was about 15 degrees. In total the men that responded were on the scene for about an hour, although they had the driver out early in the rescue.

The driver of the car was a women, but the following evening a man did the exact same thing in his truck.

Got to say people like this don’t deserve to drive. As sister/daughter to two of the fireman on scene people who put them in danger with stupidity should lose their lisence for life.

Great pictures! I agree with Colleen. The driver should have been ticketed and fined!

Hi Jayme,
We have the very same problem on our road. There is only one way in to get to our house now…and that’s not looking to good now with all this rain. The roads are falling to pieces too with big potholes.
For what is worth - I think these nutty drivers that are sliding off the roads when roads are posted close desrve to be ticketed.
