Family: Lance, Betti Jo, Cody, Austin, Zack and Bailey

Friday, November 14th, 2008

These guys have been on my blog before.  Actually Cody has been on several times and his mug still graces my website.  (I love that shot with your car by your grandma’s house).  Anyways, Cody was home and Betti Jo wanted me to get some photos of the family together.  Bailey (the little guy) was not in the mood at all, although later in the shoot he did awesome.  They thought he was just being a stinker, turned out the little guy was sick.  I talked to Betti Jo yesterday and she said he is finally feeling better.  Here are a few of my faves…

I LOVE THURSDAYS!

Thursday, November 13th, 2008

I just walked into my house and it is CLEAN!  Huge thanks to Chris of Apron Strings (Cleaning and Organizing Service).  I am so glad I decided to have someone come in once a week.  I was having a hard time keeping my house clean and doing laundry so something had to give, either less work or less family time and really I didn’t want to budge on either so I finally found someone to clean for me.  It has been awesome.  She also helped me organize my basement and she organized my bathroom for me.  Of course my husband didn’t think that I needed someone to clean for me, but now he is glad we have Chris.  I am happier, my house is cleaner, and I have more time to spend with family.

If you are in the same situation and need help give Chris a call at 574-867-2751.  Please mention to her that I told ya to call!!

Halloween Fun!!

Monday, November 3rd, 2008

I have always loved Halloween. We trick-or-treat Hamlet and then all end up at my Grover and Misty’s house.  It was sooo much fun.  Huge thanks to Grover and Misty for doing such and amazing job, the kids and adults loved it.  Here are some of my favorite photos….

Oh, I forgot to mention, Bob dressed up as a bannana, and I was a woopie cushion.  Yeah, I know we are dorks, but the kids loved it.  Mason was a monkey, so Bob and him looked great together.  Samantha was a cowgirl and Brandon was Thomas the train.

Yeah, we rode in style around town.  Forget that walking stuff!  This is our Chitty, Bang, Bang car as Brandon calls it.

I have openings available now!!!

Saturday, November 1st, 2008

I thought I better post this because while trick-or-teating I was asked a couple times if I had sessions available this month….  I posted about a month ago that I wouldn’t be taking on new clients for awhile because I needed to get seniors scheduled and exsisting families taken care of.  Well, I have some time slots open to anyone that wants them.

2  1 slots are available for Saturday Nov. 8th,    I have one slot for Saturday Nov 15th, and Saturday the 22nd I can take several sessions.  I also have some time slots during the week (including one opening this week, because I had someone that had to reschedule)  Also I will be shooting the weekend after Thanksgiving just not sure which day.

Saturday, Dec. 6th I will be at Elizabeth’s Garden in Culver with Santa from 9-noon central time.  (no apointments)  It is always lots of fun, and Liz does an awesome backdrop!!

Please don’t wait until last minute to schedule.  Even if you want a December time slot please call me.  I will do what I can to get everyone that wants a session prior to Christmas taken care of, but I am only one person and can only handle so much, at some point I will have to cut things off.

Catching Up!

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

Life has been crazy for me lately as most of you know.  Bob’s aunt Cheryl past away so it was important to spend some extra family time this past week.  I appreciate that everyone has been understanding that I haven’t got things done as quickly as I usually do.  I stayed up late last night and got up early this morning and everyone’s gallery is now up.  (with the exception of Kaylee… I still need to get your stuff editted.  I will work on that tomorrow.)  And prints will be ordered today and tomorrow so those will be on their way.

Last friday I was suppose to go to the Indiana Dunes to meet up with Matt and Sarah from New York.  Well, it rained all day.  So they ended up heading on to Ohio, which I don’t blame them, but I was totally bummed that I didn’t get to shoot with them.  However Kaylee who had planned on modeling for them spent some time with me and we did some fun stuff…  (even some shots in the rain).  I can’t wait to edit them, and will try to post tomorrow or Thursday.  Kaylee we will have to do something another day when the weather is nice.

*** High School Seniors!!!  You can still get your pictures done this fall/winter and don’t have to wait until spring.  I have a new backdrop I bought just for seniors that will be arriving at the studio in a couple weeks, and I have more new stuff to come, plus I can handle the cold if you can.  Also I am going to want to shoot some snow pictures.  I have some awesome ideas for winter pictures.  Great chance to get something totally different from anyone else.

Sneak Peek for Josh and Krista plus some Photoshop News

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

First off, I am sure you noticed I went a couple days without posting on my blog.  I have been busy.  Saturday Gwen and I shot an amazing wedding in Royal Center.  I can’t wait to share photos.  I don’t usually do sneak peeks but changing the rules for these two because my editting time will take alittle longer then normal and I will explain if you continue to read.  Here is just one photo to hold them off.  I should have a full blog post in a few days for you. (keep in mind this isn’t even one of my favorite photos)

Okay…now for industry news.  If you are at all into photography you already know that photoshop cs4 will be release very, very soon.  Like tomorrow or Thursday I am thinking.  I didn’t see it stated as Oct. 15th the release date but Adobe says that the cutoff for PS7 users to update is Oct. 15th, so I am thinking the release date with be the 15th or 16th.  When I called Adobe they said ship date is the end of October but I hope that I will be able to download the program sooner then that.

So why is this so important and why don’t I want to edit Krista and Josh’s wedding yet….well because I seen the videos showing cs4 in action and the capabilites to edit RAW files are amazing.  What does this mean???  -For me this will mean that I can edit their wedding faster and better then I could with my current cs2 software.  So it is totally worth it to hold off for a couple days.

Bob+Jayme for 10 years!!!

Friday, September 19th, 2008

Today is mine and Bob’s 10th anniversary.  I can’t believe our wedding was 10 years ago.  Time flys when you are having fun.  Last night we watched our wedding video.  It was fun to watch with Samantha (Brandon didn’t care too much, although we did dance to the music of the reception), but it was alittle hard to watch and see some of the family members that are no longer with us.  I was blessed to have all my grandparents at my wedding, now I just have Grandma Tootie.

Here are a couple photos of the two of us…. (I scanned these from my scrapbook so quality isn’t the best.  Trust me they are great photos)

Big surprise that we had pictures taken on a fire truck huh.  LOL  That was thanks to Frank Sr.  I think the only thing I would have changed was my huge bouqet.  Why did I want one so big.  (nuts)  At least I still love my dress (which I would have never tried on if it wasn’t for my mom).  I am glad that I can say that I had an awesome wedding and have a great video (thanks Rodney and Aunt Marcy) and wonderful photos to look back on.  I get teared up every time I watch dad and I having our dance.  (we both take after Grandma Marjorie when it comes to our emotions)

Well, just wanted to share my day with all of you.  And I hope someone told Bob what I wanted for a present.  I could already use another back massage from Laura.

Oh and in case you are wondering who our photographer was…. we had one of the best,  Leroy Clemmons from North Judson.  He is still shooting weddings, now his wife is shooting with him and they are a great team.

***Special note to Bob incase he reads this…. I Love You.  Thanks for always putting up with me.  You are a wonderful husband, father, community member and a hard worker.   You are the best example for our kids!

Laura Rocks!!!

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

Samantha was in a need of a haircut so I got her an appointment for tonight.  Well my back has always been an issue with me, but today it hurt bad.  Actually it has hurt since Erin’s wedding Saturday.  Well luckily my mom was able to watch Brandon and I called to see if Laura Kensinger was available there at Body Reflections.  Yippeee, she was.

Let me tell you guys, she is awesome.  I have always had issues with my back and have been to some very good massage therapists and she is on the top of my list of favorites.  Plus I love how she made suggestions of some things I could do and Bob also to help me out.  So give her a call and make an appointment.  Oh and my 10 year anniversary is Friday.  If you see Bob please hint to him that a back massage from Laura would be a very good gift for me!!!

Just a quick post then I got get back to editting….  Here are Gwen’s doggies.  She took a couple pictures the other day and I just wanted to post them for her.  They are like her kids.  I think she did a great job capturing them.

Random Stuff

Tuesday, September 9th, 2008

Sometimes I think I am losing it.  I thought I had a hair apt. today but it is next Tues.  And I thought mine and Bob’s 10 yr anniversary was this weekend and it is next.  So I am totally off a week in my mind.  Very strange feeling.  I think it is because I am swamped and just always running around like crazy.

Well, as you guys know I am booked for Sept and almost have October filled.  I have decided I will not take any new clients for family and kid sessions for the rest of the year.  Of course I will take new clients for senior sessions.  So the only way you can book a session for kids or family is if you have already used me as a photographer.  I hate to do that but I want to make sure I get all my seniors done before winter that want a session now and I want to make sure all my exsisting clients that have used me for years will have a time slot open to them.  For example, my good buddy just emailed me the other day and said make sure you put me down for early November because I want to make sure we get on your calendar.  Well, my good buddy I am talking about was my very first session ever so if I didn’t take care of her that would be terrible.  Hope all of you out there understand, I am very appreciative of people who I photograph and I want to take care of them.

Coming soon…awesome wedding I did at Culver Academy on Saturday.

No more available sessions in September.

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

I am posting this because I have a hard time saying no, but I really can’t take any more in September.  I have three weddings and a ton of seniors and other sessions for the month of September and I just can’t take any more.  October is starting off pretty full already also, I have a wedding and several sessions already on the calendar.

Seniors please don’t wait to contact me if you need a fall date.  Keep in mind I can still shoot thru the winter but I don’t like to work when it is really cold out.  (I know I am a wimp)

I am planning on shooting the Knox/OD Volleyball game, and the Knox Homecoming Football game.  I have been hired by certain parents for these so it will be my priority to get their kids pictures taken but when they are not in the game or not in action I will shoot the other team members.  I will post them in my storefront a few days after the event.

I also hope to make it to Ladies Night Out on Sept 21st.  Ladies if you haven’t got tickets yet make sure you do.  Last year was a ton of fun, food was good and it was awesome to get together with a bunch of women.  I have a family commitment that day but mom and I hope to sneak out early.  Please make sure you come up and say hi.  (it makes me feel like I am not talking to myself when I write in my blog so it is nice to know people read this thing).

Oh, and one more thing…brides don’t wait around to book me for 2009 wedding.  I only take a limited amount of weddings and I already have several on the books.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!!
