Wedding: Krista+Josh= beautiful fall wedding

Friday, October 17th, 2008

Ever heard of a unity tree???  (me neither)  Instead of a traditional unity candle Krista and Josh planed a unity tree.  And for favors they gave their guests seedlings.  What an awesome environmentally friendly thing to do on their special day.  Oh and they used pumpkins for centerpieces.

I have to say big thanks to all the family for making sure things went smoothly.  Greg (Krista’s dad) did a good job of making sure Gwen and I were taken to and from locations in the golf cart.  Everyone made our day fun.  Not gonna write a ton of stuff, just gonna show lots of pictures.

Maternity: Mike+Amanda= Baby on the way!

Friday, October 17th, 2008

Amanda thinks she looks huge…. I think she looks amazing pregnant.  I am super excitted for these two.  I can tell they will be great parents.  Maternity Portraits aren’t my favorite thing to do but really I think it important.  I know when I was pregnant with my daughter I enjoyed looking at photos of my mother pregnant with me.

This first shot isn’t so much about the baby but the fact that Amanda and Mike are so in love…

See… Pregnancy looks good on you Amanda.

Good luck with the last few weeks.  I will be thinking about you!

***Krista and Josh…I am working on your wedding pictures right now.  I editted these two first so I could get a feel of my new software before tackling 500 images.  And in case anyone was curious… I love my Photoshop CS4!  Everyone have a happy Friday!

Senior Pictures: Chris

Friday, October 17th, 2008

Chris almost had the perfect day for senior pictures.  The weather was nice, but the mosquitos were attacking like crazy.  Honestly I had to edit out more mosquitos in his session then I ever had total the entire time I have done photography.  I felt terrible.  Of course there wasn’t anything I could do about it, but it really took the fun out of it.  I think despite the terrible conditions he did a great job.

I want to start off with this photo.  I love it.  Chris grabbed two guys along side the road and said “hey, you want to be in my senior pictures?”  (just kidding, actually the one of the left is his twin brother)

Stinks how dark it gets so early in the evening.  At least I am getting alot of cool sunset pictures, and even a moon too.

Thanks Chris for not complaining about the bugs, you were a trooper!

Paging Doctor Jayme

Wednesday, October 15th, 2008

It is a good thing that I didn’t decide to be a doctor, I look terrible in a shower cap.  Actually at the facility I was at they called it a bunny suit.  (why a bunny suit when I didn’t look anything like a bunny???)  Anyways, I got to look like a doctor for a couple hours while I photographed a surgical facility in Mishawaka.  I would love to share pictures from the shoot but since it was a commercial shoot and they will be used for advertisment I am not allowed at this time.  However I can share a photo that will for sure not be used on a billboard and that is this lovely self portrait of me….

unity325edit.jpg

I probably should have editted out my double chin I am showing in this photo but oh well, that is what happens when you do self portraits, I don’t actually have one in real life.

In case anyone from last weeks shoot finds this, I want to say a big Hi! and thanks to everyone for being so helpful.  I got a ton of amazing photos, and I think the majority of them are great because the people in them love what they do.  I will be back in a couple weeks to the main facility to finish up on headshots and another little project so I will see some of you then.

*On a side note…. I am such a computer geek, as soon as I got up I got on the computer and ordered my CS4.  It is downloading to my computer as I type this.  So I will be editting all day today!!!  I can’t wait.  You know I do have a degree in computer programing so it is hard habbit to break.

Sneak Peek for Josh and Krista plus some Photoshop News

Tuesday, October 14th, 2008

First off, I am sure you noticed I went a couple days without posting on my blog.  I have been busy.  Saturday Gwen and I shot an amazing wedding in Royal Center.  I can’t wait to share photos.  I don’t usually do sneak peeks but changing the rules for these two because my editting time will take alittle longer then normal and I will explain if you continue to read.  Here is just one photo to hold them off.  I should have a full blog post in a few days for you. (keep in mind this isn’t even one of my favorite photos)

wroctober2008_277.jpg

Okay…now for industry news.  If you are at all into photography you already know that photoshop cs4 will be release very, very soon.  Like tomorrow or Thursday I am thinking.  I didn’t see it stated as Oct. 15th the release date but Adobe says that the cutoff for PS7 users to update is Oct. 15th, so I am thinking the release date with be the 15th or 16th.  When I called Adobe they said ship date is the end of October but I hope that I will be able to download the program sooner then that.

So why is this so important and why don’t I want to edit Krista and Josh’s wedding yet….well because I seen the videos showing cs4 in action and the capabilites to edit RAW files are amazing.  What does this mean???  -For me this will mean that I can edit their wedding faster and better then I could with my current cs2 software.  So it is totally worth it to hold off for a couple days.

George- Knox High School Senior

Friday, October 10th, 2008

Some day George is going to call me up and say… “Hey Jayme, Newsweek is doing a story about me would you fly out here to California to take some photos of me.”  and I am gonna say… “Well, I guess I could try to fit you into my schedule, I will be back from Paris next week.”  (Ha Ha)   Really, this kid is gonna go far in life, not just because he is smart but because he has a great personality and awesome parents that have done their part to make sure he has all the necessary resources to do amazings things with his life.  No pressure at all but I expect great things out of you George!

I wanted to do a photo that represented the fact that George has travelled all over the world the last few years…I really dig this shot..

gm-october2008_35bw-copy.jpg

Okay….here is my favorite part of the shoot.  We just got done taking some shots in the studio and I was setting up for his headshot, he walks up and I turn around to tell him where to stand and I see him in these groucho marx glasses.  I about peed my pants.  Then of course I started taking pictures, then I had him take pictures of me.  It was so much fun.  I just love how I have AWESOME seniors to work with.  Thanks George for such a fun evening of photography.  And I think I need to change my avatar on my photography forums to that photo.  I think it represents my personality pretty good.

Man, I still can’t stop laughing at this!!!  I LOVE my job.

Special Memories made at Hensler’s Fall Fest

Friday, October 10th, 2008

This past weekend we went and got pumpkins.  This is the first year Hensler’s are doing the fall thing.  We let the kids run around and play (lots to see and do), then we ate (hot dogs and apple pie!!!), then we took a wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch!  Here are some photos from the day…

headed out to the pumpkin patch in style… Culver Carriage Company are out at henslers pulling the wagons, they are such nice people.  They have had carriages at a couple weddings I have shot and it really is pretty.

My good buddy Sara just happened to be their with her kids (who have been on the blog a time or two) and her mom and sister Amy.  We had so much fun on the wagon ride.  Maddison helped Samantha carry her pumpkin.  It was just tooo cute.  My poor nephew Zack had an allergic reaction to the straw but Mike was such a sweetie and let him ride up front with him.

pumpkin-patch2.jpg

Ohhh, I almost forgot… there was a guy there making balloons for the kids, he made a super cool pumpkin one.  The kids were gathered around him forever.(look at their faces how in awww they were over his talents)  We also seen Conner there (he’s on the blog alll the time too).

pumpkin-patch1.jpg

Huge thanks the the Hensler Nursery crew and Culver Carriage Company for making our day at the pumpkin patch so much fun.  It is so nice that we have such a great place so close to home.  And thanks to all our family and friends for the special memories.   Everyone needs to take time out of their busy schedule and make memories like this, and don’t forget to take your camera with you!!!!  See everyone again at Hensler’s when we go to get our tree!!!

Just two more photos… I grabbed these shots of the reindeer out there.  I don’t think they still have their antler’s on at Christmas time so I am glad I caught these shots.

Cody: Knox High School Senior

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

Huge Thanks to Cody for doing a good job for me!!  Him and his parents had some awesome ideas for poses and locations, which is always welcome because that is the worst part- trying to come up with fun different things since I take so many Knox sudents’ pictures.  Anyways, as most of you know Cody plays basketball and football and that is a big part of his life so we made sure we took lots of shots that showed that part of his high school career.  Just want to give a shout out to all the Knox Football Seniors and tell them good luck at the rest of your season.  Here are alot of photos because I am just in the sharing mood today…..

Steven from Knox High School

Monday, October 6th, 2008

Steven may be spreading around town some rumors about me that, I am a terrible singer, I don’t know any good jokes, and he might even say that I am dorky.  Well, okay, it is all true!!

Steven had a reallly hard time giving me a smile so I pulled out all my tricks, and at times I even sang to him.  Which for those that have heard me sing you know it can make anyone laugh (yeah I am pretty bad).

So enough talk, here are some of the smiles I got from Steven.   And despite having a hard time getting the smiles out of him, he ended up with some great shots and Gwen and I had alot of fun hanging out with him and his mom.

Keith, Jill, Aidan & Ryan

Monday, October 6th, 2008

I am so glad they made the trip over from Granger to have me photograph their family.  The boys are just the sweetest!  Samantha just loved visiting with Aidan.  She was still talking about him the following day.

Jill talked about a big family photo to hang up, but I kinda like this idea…. (of course minus the big photography by jayme logo on it LOL!)

Here is just the photo of the boys so you can see how cute they are….
