Indiana Photography: Oregon-Davis Prom 2010

Sunday, May 16th, 2010

WKVI radio and the Newshawk paper needed pictures from the OD prom so I dragged myself away  from the camp fire I was sitting at went to the prom.  I am glad I did, it was so nice to see everyone dressed up so nice.  And I thought the gym looked great so kuddos to those involved in that.  Here are just a couple pictures.

Indiana Photography: Oregon-Davis Basketball

Thursday, March 18th, 2010

Last Saturday I went to the 5th and 6th grade OD girls basketball tourney, I had a blast and so did my kids.  I just love basketball!!

The 5th grade team lost in the final game by 2 stinkin’ points.  They just ran out of steam.  (ask Brandon, that is what he told my mom too).  I am so proud of them though.  Although I do have to say the Argos team they were playing was pretty darn good.  The OD 6th grade team dominated big time and claimed their trophy.  Here is the 6th grade tourney champs….

I have a feeling this group of girls will get several chances to raise the trophy up in the air, they are awesome.

Here is a picture of one of my favorite players Riley… she is one of my faves because one day I got the nicest comment from her on facebook out of no where.  I don’t forget things like that.

And here is Brandon with Kimberly who is one of his girlfriends.  He likes girls that can carry him around.  LOL

EDIT TO ADD:  Pics are now in the storefront.  I do have some pics of some girls on the other teams, I think I grabbed some of Argos and South Central.  If you see someone you know, please let them know.  (Becky G- I am talking to you)

They can be found here…

One last photo of the OD Lady Cats Varsity Basketball team.  I took their picture the other day for the wall.  Was fun to hang out with them.  (sniff, sniff, gonna miss the seniors)

Oh and I have to post this pic of Andrea and Kelsey.  Andrea’s primary goal in life is to get on my blog…

Indiana Photographer: Regional Recap

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Lady Cats are Regional Runners-Up.  Which means they beat Tri-County in the first round but lost to Fort Wayne in the final game.  It was sad.  Gonna miss watching the seniors play.

I do have to say we have the best fans ever!!!  At the final game we had the entire side of the gym filled.

Indiana Photographer: Sectional Champs

The Oregon-Davis Lady Cats are Sectional Champs.  4th year in a row for the seniors.  Congrats!

Sectional Champs 2010_Team

First I want to say congrats to Westville for being runner-ups.  I don’t think anyone expected them to make it that far in the tourney.   They have really built their program up over the last couple years.  I am happy for them!

Sectional Champs 2010_061

Last night was the last time the seniors with be in their uniforms  staring up at their state championship banner while the national anthem is playing.  Sad they won’t be playing in the Bobcat Den anymore.

Had to post this picture of Gabi.  Bonnie is in the background (blonde to the right), she cracks me up at the games and on facebook.  (waves to Bonnie)

My Samantha asked if the girls were famous.  I am like yep they sure are.  LOL

Here is my Sam with the twins.  Maybe some day they will get a picture with Samantha with her own sectional trophy.  Wouldn’t that be neat.

I jumped in and snapped a picture of the JV but I caught someone else’s flash.  Luckily I shoot in RAW so I fixed it a bit, but you can still see the shadows from that other person’s flash.  Oh well, I am posting it anyways because I love these girls.  And sorry to the parent that I overexposed their picture.

Me and my baby girl!  We had bonding time at the game.  It is so nice having the bleachers at the ends of the gym because she can sit by me when I take pictures. (thanks Kyle for taking our picture, I need to get in pictures more with my kids)  Brandon fell asleep on the way to the game and woke up grabby so Bob took him home.  I was bummed for Bob that he missed it.

Sectional Champs 2010_107

Harold presented Terry and Will a special photo from the girls.  We took it last weekend for them but had to keep it a secret… (I don’t think I have ever seen Terry and Will smile so much)

Sectional Champs 2010_097

Here is the photo the girls gave the coaches…

I think it was Terry who said… “we aren’t done yet, we will see if you survive”.

FYI the game is at Caston we play the 2nd morning game, first game starts at 9:30 central (our time) so we will play at about 11:30.  The championship game will be at 7pm central time.

“It is not how big you are, it is how big you play.”   Good luck at Regional girls give it your all and PLAY BIG!

EDIT TO ADD this photo…….. (Mason and Lexi- love you guys, you entertained Samantha and I during the game, on and stay tuned to facebook, I have video coverage of the two of you dancing, I will post a video tomorrow if I have time)

Northern Indiana Photographer: Senior Night

Thursday, February 4th, 2010

Gabi had 31 points despite South Central’s tough defense.

I just love these girls….

The Lady Cats beat South Central Tues. night at home during senior night.  I really feel bad for SC because I think they really are a good team but it was senior night and the crowd was huge and it has to be hard to be in the Bobcat Den and face our girls when they are pumped up more then usual.

See everyone at sectional!  GO LADY CATS!

Northern Indiana Basketball: Bi-County Tournament Underway

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

Lady Cats won the 1st Round of Bi-County and will be playing at LaVille on Saturday at 8:00am and the Championship game will be at in the evening.  (not 100% sure of time because it might have changed due to the morning game)

Anyways if you haven’t been to the Bobcat Den this past week there are some new bleachers at each end.  They are really nice.  I love them! (And I am not one for change, but these are really nice)  Makes it alot better for me to take pictures.

And I wanted to share this shot of Samantha (the one in the superman cape LOL) following Gabi Minix around.  Just a reminder to all the high schoolers in sports that these little kids really look up to you guys so try to set good examples on and off the courts.  And big thanks to all the girls basketball team for letting Samantha hang out with you guys she loved it.  And FYI she wore her hunting coat and hat to the game because Gabi likes camo.  She couldn’t wait to get to the game and show her.

Good luck Lady Cats, let’s bring home another Bi-County Championship!

PS  I will get all the images from the girls and boys game in a gallery later today.

Indiana Photography: Chicago Trip

Monday, January 18th, 2010

The Lady Cats played in the Chicagoland Classic on Saturday.  Me being the loyal fan that I am made the trip.  The game wasn’t so fun to watch.  The girls were tired, they played a tough game the night before and well for some reason just didn’t get a good start.  And they happened to be playing IL’s #1 ranked team. Of course I have fun where ever I go and whatever I do so the trip was still awesome.  Ate some good pizza at Connie’s Pizza with some family and friends.  Oh and I tried Calamari for the first time.  (yeah didn’t realize I was eating squid until afterwards, and FYI it isn’t that great, kinda rubbery)

Some other people that made the trip was Harold from WKVI.  I snapped a couple pictures of him and his son. (they were on air while I did it, leave it to me to bother people while they are on the radio, thankfully Harold likes me, oh and actually I heard that his daughter called him on his cell, so I think me snapping pictures wasn’t the most distracting thing he had to deal with that day)

And the OD band rocked the place.  Even the other teams fans clapped several times for them.  Super cool they made the trip.

And I am just gonna post one action shot.  I love how Harold and his son are in the background and the McDonald’s banners.  (McD’s sponsored the event)

Bi-County is this week!  See ya all there.

Northern Indiana Photography: John Glenn and Oregon-Davis Battle Against Cancer!

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

John Glenn and Oregon-Davis girls basketball team and fans raised $600 for coaches vs. cancer last night.  It was such a awesome evening.  They raffled off a special ball signed by both teams, and they did a silent auction where you could win a special head band which was worn by the girls during the game.  I won the highest bid for Katie from John Glenn’s head band.  Her mom was really appreciative that I got it.

Here is a picture of me and Christina (girls basketball manager) last night after the game.  I put the headband on but her brother said I looked dorky so I took it off.  (well he didn’t actually say that, but I could tell by the look on his face that it didn’t look good)

In case you didn’t know I HATE cancer.  I wish it would leave special people like Christina alone so they can enjoy their high school years without having to deal with medical stuff.  Christina- you are such an inspiration girlfriend!!!

If you follow my blog, you know these two are always trying to get on here.  They thought I needed some models to show off the head bands.  They are too funny.

indiana senior pics2

My favorite part of the night was when both teams met in the middle.  How awesome is that they can just get done “battling” on the court and then can come together like that.  Super group of girls at Oregon-Davis and John Glenn.

I am posting all the images I took at the game on the storefront right now.

Northern Indiana Photography: OD’s Homecoming
