odmay-2009_89

Karly and Maria crack me up.  I wish I knew they were going to do this so I could have actually been ready for it.  I got lucky I even grabbed this shot.  Maria’s family sat in front of me and had at least 3 or 4 cameras going and her mom said they missed it.odmay-2009_12

Aubrey was Valedictorian….odmay-2009_16

I thought it was cool that Karly’s dad was able to present her diploma to her.  He is on the school board.odmay-2009_55

My cousin Nathan (aka mine and Bob’s ring bearer at our wedding) also graduated.odmay-2009_83

As most of you know I graduated from OD.  (it was a few years ago…LOL  Class of 1995, Bob graduated in 1997)  Anyways, it is always neat to sit and watch commencement.

I will be posting images in the storefront soon.

Senior Night and Cheer Camp

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

Friday night was Senior Night at the Boys Basketball game and Cheer Camp performed.  I want to thank all the cheerleaders and Katina for doing such an awesome job.  The little girls looked great.  Below is Lynee to the left and Samantha is just to the right of her in the shorts.  I will post some more cheer photos tomorrow because it will be Sam’s birthday. cheer-and-sr-night-feb-2009_02

And I got to say the boys really played an awesome game.  Way to get the win for senior night!!! cheer-and-sr-night-feb-2009_27

Wish Lady Cat basketball wasn’t over….

I loved watching the Lady Cats this year.  Espicially my favorite players Sam and Aliva.  Looking forward to next year already.

For those of you that aren’t in the loop the Lady Cats are Regional Runner’s-Up.  They won the 1st round 70-43 but lost in the final game 55-61.  (sad)The seniors will be missed that is for sure…..

All photos taken for the Starke County Newshawk.  Make sure you pick up a paper!!!  Also video clip can be found on my FACEBOOK, although with more pictures. (please become a fan, I would appreciate it)

(note to other photographers… these were taken with my new Canon 5D Mark II.  Yes, I got my hands on this hot new camera, although I currently only have one battery, seems like the new battery is harder to get then the camera.  These were all shot at iso 2000 or 2500 and apeture of 2.8 and shutter speed was usually 320 with my 70-200 lens.  I didn’t shoot at 21 mega pixels like the camera is capable of, but at 10.  The camera is amazing, although this is my first full frame, so keep that in mind.  This is the best purchase I have ever made.)

Oregon-Davis 5th & 6th grade boys

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

Indiana basketball at it’s greatest.  I had the chance to watch the 5th and 6th  grade boys again last night.  It was so much fun.  My nephew Jake got to start which was cool for him since I was there taking pictures.  Gonna post a few pictures but before I do I just want to say good job to the coaches (Coach Taylor and Coach Schnekenburger).  I coached 6th grade girls way back (before I had kids) and it is alot of work, you don’t get paid much, but it is soo much fun being around the kids.  It is neat when you go and see the kids play on the Varsity level.  (And it makes you feel old when you photograph their wedding and take pictures of their baby. LOL)

Gonna start out with a picture of my favorite Bobcat.. Jake..

Oregon-Davis Senior Night

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

Fun times in the Bobcat Den last night.  First off it was senior night, always get alittle teared up when that happens.  I think I seen Coach Minix having a moment when the national anthem was playing.  I bet he was looking up at the State Championship banner and remembering that special time.  (I know I was, I hope we get to have more state memories)

THE SENIORS!!!odgbb-seniornightjan09_28-copy

Randy Johnson was honored because he has been running the scoreboard for 40 years.  He is also a past OD Bobcat basketball player and his daughter was a past Lady Cat basketball player. odgbb-seniornightjan09_92-copy

Had to share this photo of  Harold Welter from WKVI.  (I use my hands to talk too Harold)

odgbb-seniornightjan09_97-copy

Was cool to see that the girls dug out their “fat heads” from last year.odgbb-seniornightjan09_91-copy

Here is Jake and Drew, obviously they love Nicole and Kelsey.  Aren’t they so darn cute.  I wish someone would walk around wearing an I Heart Jayme shirt.  Do I need to make up my own shirts for that to happen???  Andrea… that could be your ticket to making another blog post.odgbb-seniornightjan09_08-copy

And since this post is about basketball thought I would throw in this shot of Justyne.  Really I should be posting one of Aubrey but she has been on my blog so many times lately.odgbb-seniornightjan09_44-copy

About the game…Senior Aubrey Minix had an AWESOME senior night!!  She scored 41 points (ties  breaks the Oregon-Davis record for most points in a game).  She made 11 3-pointers.  (that beat her own record of most 3-pointers in a game)  You can go to my storefront and look thru all the photos and see several of Aubrey shooting the three.  (I didn’t post them all- only the good ones) www.photographybyjayme.com/store  Also I think Caley had a double, double, if not she came pretty darn close.

In case you were wondering…. why is Jayme posting so much OD Basketball photos.  A few reasons…. I graduated from OD (a few years ago LOL) , played basketball (wasn’t very good), I love to post stuff about kids involved in their school, Bob’s cousins Sam and Aliva are on the team, I have been taking pictures of the Lady Cats for 10+ years.  (Do I need to go on??)  I wish I had more time to go to other schools in the area but with two little kids it just can’t happen, plus I am so not a sports shooter, even though I LOVE it.

One quick annoucement…. the reschduled game against Argos that will be Saturday Feb 7th is at 5:00 and is at OD.  That is according to Terry and the School.  I doubt I will be there, we have a birthday party for a special relative we will be attending and not sure if I can do both.  Bummer.

Congrats girls!  I had fun with you guys this past week.  Special Congrats to Caley on her recongition after the game, Gabby’s MVP of the tournament, and Terry Minix’s 200th win.  Lots to celebrate, although I am pretty sure Terry will have the girls running alot tonight after getting ice water dumped on him in the locker room.  (brrrr)

Photos will be in the storefront soo if you want to see more.  (includes Caley airborne right before her head hit the floor and made that terrible sound- I still can’t believe she didn’t cry-she’s tooo tough, also Terry getting water dumped on him after the win)  www.photographybyjayme.com/store

FYI Tues. night will be senior night, make sure everyone comes out to support the seniors.  I will have a kleenxe ready because I am sure I will shed a tear or two at this one.

Lou Ann from WKVI radio

Friday, November 21st, 2008

As I type this I realize that I wonder if Lou Ann cares that she is always referred to as “Lou Ann from WKVI”???  Didja know I actually knew her before she was famous.  We use to roller skate in my basement (remember that?).  We grew up a mile from each other.  She attended Oregon-Davis until junior high and then lived with her mother and attended high school in LaPorte.  Anyways, it was awesome seeing Lou Ann.   She rarely gets to see a basketball game in person because she is always at the radio station while Harold announces the games.  She said the state game by far was the best experience because she got to watch the game live on tv.  She also commented how welcome she felt at the school during the game and how the girls team took the time to say hi to her.  (she doesn’t realize that she is famous LOL).  I am like of course the girls are sweethearts, heck I am related to two of them (Sam and Alivia).  Anyways the school took advantage of the fact that she was in attendance and had her announce the game so I grabbed a couple shots of her.  I like this one because it has the scores table in it.

Oregon-Davis Girls Basketball Poster

Friday, November 7th, 2008

For the last couple years Terry has given me the chance to be creative and do fun stuff for the basketball schedule.  Last year was awesome I have to admit.  It was alot of pressure to come up with something good this year.  I really hope everyone likes it as much as we do.

od-girls-basketball-poster-picd.jpg

For those of you with bad eyes…. (aka my mom) Yep that is eight different girls in that photo.   Cheryl was a huge help on this.  I know for sure it wouldn’t be half as good if it wasn’t for her helping me.  Also Cheryl snapped some shots of me in action (I am the one behind the camera)  LOL…

odgbbsept2008_05bw-copy.jpg

And as always if Andrea is around there is always fun times….  For those of you that don’t know her.  She is a past Lady Cat and well, she is even dorkier then me.  (yep, I said that!!)  Love ya Andrea!!!!  I actually had photos that were worse then this so be thankful!

I still haven’t updated their website yet, hope to do that in the next week or so…. but here it is… http://www.odgirlsbasketball.com/
