Indiana Wedding Photography: Craig and Rachel Northwest, Indiana

Thursday, July 1st, 2010

Warning, lots of photos from Craig and Rachel’s wedding.  First one of my faves.  Rachel had marked on my checklist that a special piece of jewlery she had was a ring that her grandmother had given her.  Well I got lucky and caught this special moment with her and her mom where the ring just happened to be showing.  I so got lucky, if I was smart I would have posed for a shot like this.

After the wedding we went to Rachel’s mom and dad’s home and her dad has a really nice garden.  I thought it was fitting to put the rings on a flower in the garden.

Oh and look at these cute gals.  They fed me some good food before we headed to the reception so I had to share a photo of them.

On our way to the reception we stopped at Deep River Park and it was beautiful.  I have never been their before.

One of my favorite moments was when the Saint Mary’s group got together for a picture and left this sweet lady in charge of all the cameras…

Is that 5 cameras she is workin?

I have to say big thanks to Rachel, Craig and their families for making Bob and I feel so welcome.  The wedding ceremony was early so all stopped at Rachel’s mom and dad’s house and took a little break and relaxed and it was so nice to visit with everyone.  Her mom and dad have a wonderful garden.  I am jealous but also know I couldn’t handle the hard work involved in maintaing something that large.

The next two photos Bob took.  He once again was so much help to me and such a great help at the event.  If he isn’t busy shooting he jumps in and helps out with anything they need.  I love that about him.

Oh, I better mention this… The location for the wedding and reception is Brad’s family farm.  He grew up there.  How cool is that to get married where you grew up.

I am sure they are so glad they rented this bus.  It worked out perfect.  They hung out in there until the weather cleared so they could get under the tent.

Indiana Wedding Photography: www.photographybyjayme.com

One of the highlights of the evening was the toasts.  Mike- Brad’s father started the evening off with one of the most touching toasts ever.  One thing that followed thru the day was how blessed this couple was.  The weather seemed to clear when it needed to and Mike mentioned how Brad’s mom had always prayed that he would find the perfect bride.  How could it not be a perfect day with Brad’s mom praying since he was little for this day.

It rained outside of the tent, but it didn’t dampen the party because it was a full dance floor all night long!

Kyle Hinds was the DJ  (highly recommend him)  I love when he does the anniversary dance and then talks to the last couple standing on the floor at the end.  This couple was so cute.

As I mentioned Brad and Lindsay had a blessed day.  All weekend it rained and was hot, but right before the ceremony it cleared and we were able to get pictures and they were able to have their wedding and then it started to pour.  I felt terrible to everyone helping with the food and stuff.  They got SOAKED.

Here is the storm front moving in…

Indiana Wedding Photography: www.photographybyjayme.com

Huge thanks to everyone for such a wonderful day.  It was a hot one but really no one complained.  Everyone pitched in and helped out during the day.   I know I posted this on my facebook but have to share here… When Bob and I left we said by to Mike (Brad’s dad)  he said, “come back anytime”  I told Bob that he would just die if we showed up for dinner the next day.  LOL

Oh and have to mention that Lindsay’s dad was in awww of his daughter all day.  She is a beautiful girl but I think seeing her as a stunning bride was just awesome for him.  Bob is going to be just like that when Samantha gets married.

Everyone was just so nice and we could relate to them so well.  My family is so much like Brad’s.  We all live near each other.

I want to thank Abby and Josh (maid of honor and best man) for being so sweet and for helping with crowd control.  LOL  Thanks to Kasey’s dad for making Bob and I feel welcome at his home and to everyone for the fun times.  We really enjoyed ourselves.

Thanks to my husband for not only being a great help to me but was so helpful to the family.  He saved the day when one of the kids knocked over a glass, he was right there to get kids away from the glass and then cleaned up for them.  I love it when I hear people say how lucky I am to have such a great husband.  (thanks, I know!!)

Shout out to Robin who documented Kasey and Erics day thru his video camera.  He told me Kasey worked with him for a summer working on films and commercials.  I would highly recommend him.  He was lots of fun to work with.  Here is a quick shot I snapped of Robin, once he seen I was taking his picture, he thought he had to take mine…  (Robin- call me if you need a photographer, I would have no problem working with any of your famous clients, and I would have no problem flying to CA.  LOL)

Before I end this post, have to mention that the 3 hour journey home was scary.  (Bob says I exaggerate but..) The weather was crazy.  For awhile it rained so hard he drove about 30 mph (If I was driving I would have pulled over)  Thanks facebook friends for keeping me updated on the weather during the ride home!!

Indiana Photography: Justin and Julia’s Engagement Session

Monday, April 26th, 2010

I just love these two.  So glad I am shooting their wedding.  I photographed them both for their senior pictures and also shot Julia’s sister Sarah’s wedding.  They both have wonderful families.  We started off in the studio… This next photo is so them.  Julia laughing and Justin holdin’ Julia tight with a big smile on his face.

Then we wondered around near the buildings because it kept raining…

They kept kissing each other…

Then we went to the 4-H fairgrounds.  Julia was fair queen and Justin was king (just not the same year).  They both continue to be very active with 4-H.  Oh and I almost forgot to add that Justin asked Julia to marry him at last year’s 4-H Fair.

Sunday, January 10th, 2010

I met with a really nice couple from the Chicago area yesterday.  I felt so bad that they drove all the way in the snow just  to meet me and since they are both really into photography I decided to get the camera out.  I just have to share two images I caught of her ring.  It was fun playing around, but it was sooo darn cold.

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

If you follow my facebook you will know that my friend Nichole Frank is pregnant (due some time in January) so I helped her out a wedding this weekend.  After I told her I would help she informed me that there was THIRTEEN (yes 13!!) flower girls and ring bearers going to be in the wedding.(information that I wish I knew before I said yes, just kidding)  So my job for the day was to help with kids.  So basically I acted goofy most of the time.  And if you know me, that is so hard to do.  LOL

I did manage to snap a few photos also.  During the ceremony I planted my butt up in the balcony while my poor pregnant friend ran around all over.

My fave, they had the church decorated really nice for winter….

I had fun teasing this little guy.  He was so darn cute, but he had the wrong color tractor.  Tractors are  green at my house.  (note to his parents, I have a six year old daughter, keep that in mind when he is looking for a prom date)  Isn’t he just soooo cute.

GoetzDec09_009

Remember how I mentioned there was 13 kids in the wedding party.  Well we got them all in one photo.  I was kinda off to the side acting silly, but I just had to snap one shot of it because I am sure I will never see this again.

Anne and Nate- you guys have wonderful families.  I loved talking to both of  your dads.  I can’t imagine how crazy Christmas is going to be with all those kids.  Do you guys have to rent a hall or does grandpa have a big house??? (most of the little kids are Nate’s nieces and nephews)

***Side note.  Just wanted to stress how important it is to help out a friend.  Nichole came with me on my OD Lady Cats poster shoot and helped, she has also taken my family photo too.  I was just returning the favor.

And here is me and one of my bestest buddies ever Dena.  Thanks Dena for introducing me to Kari and her mom Linda.  It is awesome that I got to shoot such a fun wedding and have made some great new friends thru you.  (my hair looks alittle crazy there, honestly it looked really good when we started the day, I love my new hair cut, trying to stop the pony tail wearing thing, since I am over 30).Sept2009_479

Oh Boy, did we have a good time at Brandon and Kari’s wedding.  The church was amazing as you seen.   Brandon and Kari hired the best vendors.  Everything was perfect.  Their friends and family piled on the dance floor all night.  I love receptions like that.

I will post links to the vendors tomorrow.  I need to get my stuff ready for the ladies night out.  And sorry you had to wait a week for the blog post.  I typically have them up sooner but this week I was shooting non-stop so I wasn’t as quick as I usually am.

Culver Indiana Wedding: Ellen and David

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

Once again I was lucky to be shooting at the Culver Academy Memorial Chapel.ellendavidaug2009_2041

Before I post more of the ceremony here is the jewelry…  The necklace and the bracelet are from Ellen’s grandmother.   The rings were handmade by David.  Yep, he made them.  Isn’t that cool. ellendavidaug2009_022

Closer look at the rings.  The one with silver on it is the engagement ring.  The silver is in the shape of dogs.  I guess Ellen and David have two doggies. ellendavidaug2009_005

My favorite part of the day was when Ellen and her dad walked down the aisle.  Here is her mom and grandmother. ellendavidaug2009_072

The reception was at the Culver Academy Navel Building.  It is a neat building.  This was the first time I was ever inside. ellendavidaug2009_343

I don’t normally eat cake at a wedding I am working at, but Ellen insisted and I am glad I did.  It was yummy!!!ellendavidaug2009_335

Had to throw this shot in, Bob and I walked around at the Culver Cove looking for some cool rocks to put the rings on and I snapped this shot.  It started raining when we got back to the room, but it stopped just in time when we headed for the church.

ellendavidaug2009_027

Bob shot with me again.  We don’t spend much time together without kids, so it was nice to hang out together.  If you ask him he won’t admit to liking weddings but I think he does.  He also does a good job.  He got all the balcony shots for me and he also did some ironing for the groom who had a wrinkle in the middle of his tie…ellendavidaug2009_047

I asked one of Ellen’s girlfriends that we hung out with before the wedding to snap a picture of us together.  Big thanks!!!ellendavidaug2009_118

Ellen and David are REALLY laid back people.  They were getting ready at the Culver Cove and Bob and I got there and Ellen had her hair done but that was it.  After hanging out for awhile I had to tell her that she better get her makeup done and get dressed.  And the entire day was so laid back it kinda’ made me nervous but yet so comfortable all at the same time.  They didn’t want to be rushed, they just wanted to enjoy the day.

Ellen and David must be really well liked by their family and friends.  Many travelled very far for the wedding.  Ellen and David both live in Sunnyvale, CA, some of their friends came from there, some family from New York, Rhode Island, Michigan and there was even a charter bus load that came from Indianapolis.

Thanks Ellen and David and your family and friends for the fun day in Culver!!!

rayaug2009_227

Kalan and Charles decided to see each other before the wedding and we actually took all formal pictures prior to the ceremony.  It was so nice to be able to head right to the recetpion.  We first started shooting at the Culver Cove were Kalan got ready, and look what I found…

This was a wonderful couple that traveled all the way from Argentina for the wedding.  He shared with me that in Argentina it is customary for the bride and groom to get a picture taken with each table.  What a neat idea.  So I did that for his table and I also tried to grab a picture of the couple while they visited other tables.rayaug2009_464-copy

rayaug2009_448bw-copy

I would say about 75% of the guests were from Ohio.  The guests I talked to loved Culver, Indiana!!  (I do too.)  The wedding was perfect!  (well except for the fact that it was really hot out but that was out of our hands)  The couple was super to work with, their family and friends were so friendly and FUN, the food was fantasic, the cake was huge and so pretty, the DJ rocked the tent and the view of the lake was awesome.  Thanks for allowing me to photograph your special day.

Oh and for the record Todd from Corndance owes me.  I helped him out with the cake.  His help came shortly after I started helping him but I think he was glad I was right there.  And I have to add… Todd and his crew did an awesome job.  They had to walk back and forth from the building to the tent with the food and it wasn’t a short walk.  Many times I seen employees running back to get another tray of food.   rayaug2009_366-copy

And huge thanks to my second shooter Gwen for capturing the balcony shots of the chapel for me.  You got some awesome pictures once again and it is always so much fun working with you.
