I thought it was neat that Bob grabbed a shot of it from above.  You have to look closely to see it, but cool that it was taken the same time I took mine.

What an awesome wedding!!!  If you didn’t have fun, it was your own fault.  The DJ had the dance floor rockin and Bob had the photo booth going.  I am sad that it is all over.  Sarah and Jon were so easy to work with which makes my day more fun.  (Do you think we could all get together again on their first anniversary??)

Wednesday, October 28th, 2009

Jon and Sarah were married on Saturday.  It was a beautiful day, I got some amazing pictures and I will be sharing them very soon.  But first I had to post the photos from their Photo Booth.   Jon and Sarah are a fun couple, and their family and friends are fun and crazy just like they are.  If you don’t believe me just check out a few photos that Bob took at their wedding day photo booth.  PS (future brides and grooms this was so much fun, I am going to offer this as a add-on, so ask me for details)

Huge thanks to my hubby Bob for doing such a great job.  I had so many nice comments about him that night.  Everyone had a good time in the photo booth and told me what a great husband I had.  That totally made my night.  Here is a photo of Bob in action…

If you had fun in the photo booth leave a comment and let everyone know.  I hope to do this at more weddings and events.

Thanks Jon, Sarah and all the guests for a wonderful day.  I will be posting wedding photos in the next couple days.  To see the rest of the photo booth photos go to my STOREFRONT.

They had a Hummer limo, that was super duper cool.  Although I about fell on my A$$ when I was getting out of it.  Luckily no one really seen and my ankle just hurt for alittle while and then I was fine.Sept2009_328

Bob and I were marriend 11 years yesterday.  My favorite part of our wedding day was all the dancing…our first dance, dancing with my father, and  shaking my booty with all my family and friends.  The way it looked that may have been Kari and Brandon’s favorite part too.Sept2009_425bw

The cutest, sweetest and most fun ring bearer ever.  I just loved this little guy.  Later in the evening he put on his ring security shirt.  We had so much fun with and even sat with him and his family for the meal.Sept2009_570

And here is me and one of my bestest buddies ever Dena.  Thanks Dena for introducing me to Kari and her mom Linda.  It is awesome that I got to shoot such a fun wedding and have made some great new friends thru you.  (my hair looks alittle crazy there, honestly it looked really good when we started the day, I love my new hair cut, trying to stop the pony tail wearing thing, since I am over 30).Sept2009_479

Oh Boy, did we have a good time at Brandon and Kari’s wedding.  The church was amazing as you seen.   Brandon and Kari hired the best vendors.  Everything was perfect.  Their friends and family piled on the dance floor all night.  I love receptions like that.

I will post links to the vendors tomorrow.  I need to get my stuff ready for the ladies night out.  And sorry you had to wait a week for the blog post.  I typically have them up sooner but this week I was shooting non-stop so I wasn’t as quick as I usually am.

Culver Indiana Wedding: Ellen and David

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

Once again I was lucky to be shooting at the Culver Academy Memorial Chapel.ellendavidaug2009_2041

Before I post more of the ceremony here is the jewelry…  The necklace and the bracelet are from Ellen’s grandmother.   The rings were handmade by David.  Yep, he made them.  Isn’t that cool. ellendavidaug2009_022

Closer look at the rings.  The one with silver on it is the engagement ring.  The silver is in the shape of dogs.  I guess Ellen and David have two doggies. ellendavidaug2009_005

My favorite part of the day was when Ellen and her dad walked down the aisle.  Here is her mom and grandmother. ellendavidaug2009_072

ellendavidaug2009_153

And here is my favorite picture from the wedding.  Just look at their faces.  Everyone is just beaming with happiness….ellendavidaug2009_1561

The moms were so happy they danced out of the church.ellendavidaug2009_219

Ellen and David were pretty happy too, so much so they ran and jumped in the air. ellendavidaug2009_262

ellendavidaug2009_276

The reception was at the Culver Academy Navel Building.  It is a neat building.  This was the first time I was ever inside. ellendavidaug2009_343

I don’t normally eat cake at a wedding I am working at, but Ellen insisted and I am glad I did.  It was yummy!!!ellendavidaug2009_335

Had to throw this shot in, Bob and I walked around at the Culver Cove looking for some cool rocks to put the rings on and I snapped this shot.  It started raining when we got back to the room, but it stopped just in time when we headed for the church.

ellendavidaug2009_027

Bob shot with me again.  We don’t spend much time together without kids, so it was nice to hang out together.  If you ask him he won’t admit to liking weddings but I think he does.  He also does a good job.  He got all the balcony shots for me and he also did some ironing for the groom who had a wrinkle in the middle of his tie…ellendavidaug2009_047

I asked one of Ellen’s girlfriends that we hung out with before the wedding to snap a picture of us together.  Big thanks!!!ellendavidaug2009_118

Ellen and David are REALLY laid back people.  They were getting ready at the Culver Cove and Bob and I got there and Ellen had her hair done but that was it.  After hanging out for awhile I had to tell her that she better get her makeup done and get dressed.  And the entire day was so laid back it kinda’ made me nervous but yet so comfortable all at the same time.  They didn’t want to be rushed, they just wanted to enjoy the day.

Ellen and David must be really well liked by their family and friends.  Many travelled very far for the wedding.  Ellen and David both live in Sunnyvale, CA, some of their friends came from there, some family from New York, Rhode Island, Michigan and there was even a charter bus load that came from Indianapolis.

Thanks Ellen and David and your family and friends for the fun day in Culver!!!

Culver Indiana Wedding: Kalan and Charles

Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

The Culver Memorial Chapel is simply beautiful!!  My favorite place to shoot.  This is why…. (isn’t it just amazing)

rayaug2009_227

Kalan and Charles decided to see each other before the wedding and we actually took all formal pictures prior to the ceremony.  It was so nice to be able to head right to the recetpion.  We first started shooting at the Culver Cove were Kalan got ready, and look what I found…

This was a wonderful couple that traveled all the way from Argentina for the wedding.  He shared with me that in Argentina it is customary for the bride and groom to get a picture taken with each table.  What a neat idea.  So I did that for his table and I also tried to grab a picture of the couple while they visited other tables.rayaug2009_464-copy

rayaug2009_448bw-copy

I would say about 75% of the guests were from Ohio.  The guests I talked to loved Culver, Indiana!!  (I do too.)  The wedding was perfect!  (well except for the fact that it was really hot out but that was out of our hands)  The couple was super to work with, their family and friends were so friendly and FUN, the food was fantasic, the cake was huge and so pretty, the DJ rocked the tent and the view of the lake was awesome.  Thanks for allowing me to photograph your special day.

Oh and for the record Todd from Corndance owes me.  I helped him out with the cake.  His help came shortly after I started helping him but I think he was glad I was right there.  And I have to add… Todd and his crew did an awesome job.  They had to walk back and forth from the building to the tent with the food and it wasn’t a short walk.  Many times I seen employees running back to get another tray of food.   rayaug2009_366-copy

And huge thanks to my second shooter Gwen for capturing the balcony shots of the chapel for me.  You got some awesome pictures once again and it is always so much fun working with you.

I know what some of you are thinking (espicially Diane J.).  Why would you get in the river and the pool in your wedding dress??  Why not?  The Trash the Dress session isn’t really about trashing the dress, actually no dress was harmed in creating these pictures, it just got wet.  No problem though because it was headed for the cleaners anyways.  Actually it had a couple stains on it from the wedding day.

The reason we do the session is to create photos couldn’t be taken on the wedding day, and also to create additional memories before the poor dress gets stuffed in a box for eternity.  Jessica and her mom Tammy had been planning so long for the wedding and then the day comes and goes so quickly.  It was another chance to get the dress back on and have some fun.

I can’t take credit for the pool part of the session,  Elizabeth (from Elizabeth’s Garden) is the one that came up with that idea.  She knew we were doing the shoot because she made the bouquet for it and she called me up and told me what she was thinking.  Which reminds me I have to tell Donna L. huge thanks for the use of the pool.

Thank you so much Tammy and Jessica for such an awesome evening!!!  I couldn’t have asked for easier people to work with.  I hope you are talking about it for years to come.

***Big Favor*** I need to know which image is your favorite (yeah you, the person reading this).    So please leave me a comment and tell me your favorite one or two images.  I would really appreciate it.  PS  I fixed it so you can leave comments, I forgot to check the box.  Thanks Lori for letting me know!!!

Indiana Photography: Bridal Shoot

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

Can’t post too many pictures from this shoot since it was a Bridal Shoot.  I will for sure share after the wedding, but I wanted to share a couple because I really liked shooting it.  This was my first Bridal session.  What is a Bridal session you are asking????  A shoot prior to your wedding.  LOL

Several reasons to do a Bridal shoot….We got some super cool shots, she got to do a trial run on hair (found out the veil needs to be secured differently), makeup and dress, we got to have alot of fun doing something different, oh and it is less photos we need to take that day.  Yes of course I will still take some that day, but if there is a time crunch that is one less thing that we have to worry about.

So here are just a couple shots, pretty much just of the flowers.  Elizabeth’s Garden will be doing their flowers for their wedding.  I love working with them.  They just flat out ROCK!

I loved this wedding.  I felt like part of the family.  All their friends and family were just so sweet and fun to be around.  I hope I get to shoot more weddings from these two families (I am willing to travel to Logansport and to Chicago folks so make sure you call!!).

One of the best ceremonies I have ever seen.  The music was AMAZING  (I will post video clip on facebook later this week).  And the pastor did such a wonderful job.

The reception was so much fun.  Everyone danced, and danced.  I took sooo many dancing pictures.  Way more then I ever do.

I better wrap this up…   Just wanted to add a huge thanks to Neil and Brooke and their wedding party for the fun time during pictures.  I couldn’t have ask for any better people to work with.

The ceremony was at the Culver Memorial Chapel at Culver Academy, the reception location was Woodcraft Dinning Hall.  Photography by Jayme and Gwen.  Cake by Norbert Seufert.

may-2009_258bw2

Brooke and Neil got married at the Culver Memorial Chapel on Saturday.  I am usually really fast about getting photos on the blog and in the gallery but since things are super crazy with designing senior graduation open house cards and with my surgery fast approaching I decided to just post one image and wait until next week to edit the photos when I don’t feel rushed.  I had no problem selecting the one image.  People that know Neil and Brooke totally understand.  That one picture pretty much says it all.  So check back middle of next week to see more images from there amazing wedding.  (and I even took a video clip during the ceremony and I will post that on facebook next week too- I couldn’t resist, they had the most amazing ceremony ever)

And Bob is gonna kill me, but I had to share this one of him holding Asheley’s flowers and helping with the veil.   Bob was an awesome assistant.  He held coats, the flowers, carried my crap, and was helpful posing,  he sees little things I don’t.  Oh and he saved the day with his pocket knife huh Asheley.  I am a lucky girl to have such a great guy.

april2009_053

Sorry not to share more but Asheley and Eric are private people unlike me so I scaled down my posting.  The rest of their images will be in their gallery soon, please ask them for the password.

In case you didn’t know it, Asheley is my cousin, (her grandma Peggy is a cousin to my dad),we have always been close since we went to the same school and know the same people.  Oh, and one of my favorite pictures ever is one I took of her sister Connie Jo.  Thanks Asheley for asking me to be your photographer, I had fun.  Also I wish you happiness always!

Gotta share this one and tell the story behind it…. I try not to be noticed at weddings.  I do a pretty good job most of the time, but for some reason this little guy stared at me the entire way down the aisle.  It was so funny everyone got a chuckle out of it…

I had a blast shooting this wedding.  I have known Daniel for years but the wedding day was the first time I met Katie, and she is a sweetheart.  Oh, and the families…. They were wayyy tooo funny for me.

Gotta tell you about Larissa and Luella…  They might both check out my blog but I am pretty sure it’s Larissa Luella that is my big stalker.  While I was shooting formals I heard them talking behind me.  Well, she was trying to figure out how to get on my blog.  Well, I am big about getting my picture taken too so I decided we needed a good ole group picture of me with my 4-H buddies so here it is Larissa and Luella …..

medesi2008_410-copy

And I have one more surprise for you girls….

medesi2008_207-copy

Here’s the story behind the picture… Everyone was suppose to do a goofy pose, but instead of goofy, I think it looks more like she was trying to be a tiger????  This is the kind of stuff I dealt with the entire day.

One quick thing I have to mention, this was the first time Gwen and I took the time to eat cake.  I had to have some of Amie’s cake, and I am so glad I did, it was wonderful just like I know it would be.  I remember her entering cakes in 4-H and she always did an awesome job on decorating, but I never had the chance to taste one.
