Northern Indiana Photographer: Merry Christmas

Friday, December 25th, 2009

Our Christmas Card…  My favorite photo of the kids this year.  So them in their cowboy gear.  The saddle is the one they ride in which was Dad and Uncle Larry’s when they were little.

I hope everyone has a great time with family and friends today.  Create memories together and make sure you snap a photo or two.  Great time to get everyone together for a group photo!  (we did that yesterday with my mom’s family)  Christmas Eve was amazing for us.  This morning Bob and I were up before kids we were so excited for them.  Today we will be sure to have a blast at Bob’s parents home.  (they are scared because I told them I have something fun planned)

Be safe driving.  Slow down, it is better to get there late then not at all.

Northern Indiana Photographer: I love my Lady Cats

Thursday, December 17th, 2009

Nothing fires me up more then seeing kids do good things.  The Lady Cats have dedicated their season to their friends and family battling cancer.  Fox28 News ran a story on them last night.  If you missed it you can check it out online.

All you girls were awesome on TV.  Very smart and talented young women.  You will go far in life when you do good things for others because it all comes back to you- trust me.

Northern Indiana Senior Photographer: Fun Time Learning

Thursday, December 10th, 2009

I am always trying to be a better photographer.  A couple weeks ago I attended a workshop in Indianapolis.  I have always felt I needed to improve my skills in the studio.  I learned alot and met so many wonderful people from all over.  Here are a few shots I took while there.

Matt did an awesome job.  He was pretty comfortable in front of the camera and it shows in his pictures.  I have had so many awesome seniors lately, I am so lucky.

Huge thanks to Matt’s dad.  While I was taking Matt’s pictures his dad hung out with my kids while they played outside with my niece.  It was a huge deal to Samantha for her PE teacher to be at her house and talking to her.  She is so lucky to have the best teachers.

Matt, thanks for being so easy to photograph!!!  And good luck Matt in this upcoming basketball season.  I will for sure make it to a few of your games with camera in hand.

We had a really pretty day for shooting with Adrienne.  It was alittle cold, but nothing compared to how bad it was this weekend.  We really got lucky.  I am so glad she brought her friend Karen, who is a sweetie and also a good reflector holder.

Thanks to the entire family for a fun afternoon of shooting.  Can’t wait to see you guys again.

Preston ROCKS!  He was fun to photograph.  He had me cracking up the entire time.  He would pose “normal” and then next thing I knew he would be climbing the tree or doing something like the above shot.

Preston, I have been thinking about today while I edit your pictures.  I hope the rain didn’t ruin your tennis sectionals.

Which of these next two do you like best.  I like one better and Bob likes another better.  I am not gonna say which I like best because I don’t want to sway your thinking.  Leave me some feedback in the comment section if you have time, I would appreciate it.  ChrisSept09_65LA-copy

We took LOTS of golf pictures Sunday night.  Chris has been golfing since he was about five, so I went overboard with golf shots.  I had a blast with Chris and his mom.  We went to the Chesapeak Run Golf Course in North Judson.  (btw a big thanks to a certain girlfriend of mine that works there)

Anyways, back to the fun… yeah we had a blast and the day was perfect.  I don’t like golf but I felt like just hanging out at the course.  Chesapeake Run is such a beautiful place, we are lucky to have it so close to home.

Big thanks to Chris for doing such a good job.  He wrote on my facebook that he had a good time, which makes me feel good.  Of course my main focus is to get great photos but I want to create memories for the senior and their parents.  I know they both will never forget the time we had and that makes me smile!  :)

I shot Callie’s sister’s pictures a couple years ago and am so glad they were happy with me and my work that they came back for more.  As you can see Callie did an amazing job.  She should be a hair model,  you know the pictures of all the different hair cuts that you see in the magazines at the hair salons.

Thanks Callie and April for the wonderful evening!!!!  Spread the word to everyone in South Bend.

One of the best Indiana High School Basketball players just got her senior pictures taken!!!  Gabi just recently committed to Division 1 School Marquette.   I am so happy for her and her family.  I played sat on the bench for her dad Terry back when I was in high school.  I will never forget her and her sister standing at the free throw line nailing every shot when they were like 6 years old.  The entire family has put in alot of hard work to make it all possible.

I am posting her pictures in two parts because, well I took a bunch of photos and want to showcase lots.  I will post her outside stuff later today. Thanks Gabi and Cheryl for an awesome evening.  My arm  is still sore, I have never shot so many shots at a senior session in my life.

The above photo is Patricia with her mom.  They are both such sweethearts.  We had such a nice time talking during our session about what I have to look forward to when the kids grow up and are running around with activites.   As you can see in a couple shots we had to deal with wind during her session, which is good and bad.  I love the wind blowing in her hair, but it was tough to deal with that day.   Luckily I have lots of good spots around the house that has windblock.  Well girls, I hope you have lots of fun this fall with all the athletic activites!  Oh and spread the word for me, I am loving all the John Glenn folks that have been coming here lately!!  :)
